Previous owner was an idiot
Guys, I got to spend Easter Eve doing a little wash/cleanup of my 'Screw...
Got some wicked scratches on the hood... (there from previous owner)... there's no bug deflector (yet)... and these are tiny micro scratches in horizontal fashion...
Looks like previous owner must have really "scrubbed" to get bugs off...
Any suggestions... (this truck only has 10K miles on it).. but there is an extensive amount of superficial scratching here (nothing deep).
Thanks
Dan

Meguiars #9. I believe you'll see a considerable difference if the scratches aren't very deep.
Remember, you'll need to rewax the areas that you utilize it on... I'd suggest Meguiars #26.
#9 is a very respected product by just about everyone here on the boards and I think that you'll get great results...

I think you'll be impressed...
Even some of the 'professional detailers' that frequent this forum like the #9. If the scratches are hairline and don't go deep into the clearcoat, you should have pretty good success.
It's a great product in my opinion.
Also, congrats on your order from Meguiars. It's a tried and true brand name that has been around for a long time. They stand behind their customers. I really think you'll be happy with the results.

dantheman1973,
I agree, the #9 is a fine product. However, if you have a PC buffer, or the swirls are in a small area that you can do by hand, you might want try some Meguiars DACP (Dual Action Cleaner Polish). Then follow that up with the #9. If this doesn't remove the swirls, you might need to have them removed with a rotary polisher.
