Most of the big paint companies have labs run testings on different types of paints with all their paint products to test for things like gloss and durablity. The problem is they do not release them to the public.

Detail Plus has contracted a private lab to do some wax testing but the field isn't going to be as big as this one. It is mainly going to be products that professional detailers use as this is who they are doing the test for.

Here's another test I found. Again, they don't have the perfect setup, but they tried. The last part about Zaino attracting much more dust than Malm's was interesting.

You should just find a wax you like and stick with it.

It took me awhile but I've already come to the conclusion that there is no perfect wax out there. Each situation calls for a different wax. I did a show car the other day so I used a Glaze and P21S. I also did a work truck the other day so I use Pro's Profections, which is a synthetic. On my truck I sometimes use Klasse SG. Most of the time it isn't even waxed.

That's the plan. I'm just trying to find a good place to start. I really lean more towards long lasting protection (polymer) than the absolute best appearance (carnuba). With two small kids at home my weekend time is spread pretty thin, so I need to minimize my car care time. Sounds like Klasse or Zaino might suit me best.

Intel.... Didn't you try Platinum's UPP? I was curious as to your impressions of that product since I had heard a lot of good feedback on it.

Bigdeal, I haven't gotten to try any UPP yet. Sometime I'll get around to getting some to try. I'm happy with what I have right now though.

BigDeal,

I'm currently using the UPP. I really like it! Easy on, easy off. Really a great look. The first synthetic I've used that "leans" towards a carnauba look.

Here ya go. http://www.premiumautocare.com/platinumseries.html Have a look for yourself. I have a friend using this stuff on his dark blue Mustang and the car looks great. Been thinking about buying some and experimenting on the wife's SUV.

I can't take it anymore, Zaino this, Zaino that! I'm ready to cave in and buy the stupid stuff.

Do they sell a "all in one" kit like the liquid glass people do, or do I have to buy each thing seperatly?

I hold a few of you responsible for this (you know who you are)
