Question Non-clearcoat questions

I just bought a Bronco that was repainted by the previous owner. I do not believe that it has been clearcoated. Is there a way to find out? Also, are there different types of paint care products I should use, or should I stick with the same polish and wax I use on my '98 F150? And can I use a clay bar on it? Any help is greatly appreciated.

To find out if it's clearcoated, or not, just take some paint cleaner, or polish, or even some wax (not sealants) and rub a little on with a white towel. If the towel has some of the paint color in it after you rub, then it's a non-clearcoated paint.

Most good waxes and polishes work equally well on both clear, and non-clearcoated paints, but it's probably adviseable to use one that specificaly states that.

For non-clearcoated vehicles, I recommend using Meguiars #7 followed by a #26.

Make sure the surface is prepped well...
