Question Clean wax off of bed rail caps

After waxing my 99 F-150 Flareside, I noticed I got a little wax on the plastic stepsides and bed rails. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to clean it, and/or what can you do to restore it to its original deep black color.
Thanks!

Try putting a trim restorer on it. I use Armorall which isn't very highly recommended, I just use it for the price.

As priddyboy stated Dawn dish washing soap works excellent at stripping wax so it will get it off your bed rails, but most likely you will need to wax the truck again because it will strip some of the wax off while your cleaning the bedrails.

Next time what you might try is using some detail spray, or some type of product on the bedrails first before waxing so it will act like a barrier between the plastic and any wax you may get on it.

You could always try Zaino polish instead of wax for your truck it does NOT stain plastic. It's a thought...

I have heard peanut butter does a wonderful job (not kidding).

I have also heard (and tried with good results) a plain 'ol "bubble gum eraser" This works really well and you just brush the shavings away afterwards.

Dawn soap is really hard on the trim though, so that's not recommended. That's one reason why it isn't good to use Dawn to wash yoru car with much.

Meguiar's #39 cleaner (heavy duty vinyl cleaner), a toothbrush, and a little "elbow grease"! Won't strip the wax, won't damage the trim!
