Question Chrome care? (bugs)

I have alot of chrome on the front end of my 2001 Supercrew. I have a great deal of difficulty keeping it clean from all the dead bugs. I try to keep the front end clean even after a road trip. Still, it seems to be getting more difficult as time goes on to take care of. Is there like a Chrome wax I can put on that would make it easier to clean. I already use Never dull. I'm assuming a chrome polish alone won't do the trick.

Any suggestions?

Elbow grease is best however; you certainly can wax your chrome. It's non-porus and thus, will do fine.

You're still going to have to work them off though...

A clay bar may help get the bugs off, but that probably isn't the most economical. Use a mild chrome polish, but you are still going to need to use your arms.

skipster,

One thing that might help is to use a synthetic sealant like Zaino, Klasse AIO/SG, or UPP. "Stuff" doesn't seem to stick as well to the synthetics, and the synthetics seem to last longer on chrome which keeps the surface slick longer. Still, the bugs will be there, but they may clean off the surface much easier.

Just a thought?

What about some type of detailer spray, like Zaino has the spray to use after washing, and I know there are other brands. Would that work on crome? If so it is real easy on and off, and bugs would stick less...

Thanks for all the ideas guys. I will give some of the ideas a try. I will look into the synthetic idea.

Although I am a user of rain X. let me know if they come out with bug X. I'm sure the product will be a hot sell

I like to use Harley bug remover. It is biodegradeable and works well. I follow it up with some detailing spray.

Is that just something to remove bugs, or do you put it on to help insure that bugs don't stick as well without something?

I've been using Pro Honda Spray Cleaner.
I first learned about it when I bought my Motorcycle a couple years ago and I preach it's miracleous results! It does everything from clean chrome, clean & wax painted surfaces, Cleans Glass (M/C Windshield) and even shines and protects rubber and plastic. I Love this Stuff! I know I sound like a commercial but Try it you'll like it. If anyone knows anything negative about this product please let me know but I don't see anything as of now!

If it is chrome, WD-40 works like a charm, and doesn't hurt your bumper
