Question Arm Rest & Steering Wheel Cleaning

Ok guys. I hope you understand what I am about to describe. What is your suggestion to cleaning the steering wheels, doors and arm rest? Over time dirt builds up on the steering wheel and places where I rest my elbows/forearms. I do pass Armoral when I clean the interior. But I noticed some darker spots where I place my elbows on. Should I just apply more pressure on those spots when applying the Armoral?

I'm sorry. I just noticed an "Interior Forum". I should have placed this post there.

Thanks,
Blake

You might want to use some good old Dawn before applying Armorall.

Don't laugh!

The best thing I have found it "Facial Cleansing Towelettes". They have a "cleaner" & "moistureizers". Now, I said don't laugh! They do work well. My wife uses them for removing make-up, etc. I tried them on the steering wheel, then the arm rests. I also found that they work pretty good on cleaning the "leather" surface on your shoes.

I can see where the cleansing pads would work.

And Im sure the moisturizers would be great on leather. I might try it.

Armorall isn't a good cleaner however; they do make a considerably better product no versus 5 years ago.

The silicones that AA used were very cheap and caused cracking and such however; they've 'generally' corrected that problem and today's Armorall isn't a bad product... definately not the best on the market but, not a bad one either.
