Had my 97 expedition stolen, I have both sets of keys, how could this happen. I am having a problem with the insurance company, help me Is this possible to steal, there was no damage to the steering column, They said only my key will start the vehicle

 

Pre-99 models do not have a chip in the key, or any other kind of "Theft Deterrent System". I had the column apart on my 98 last night, and all it took was a phillips screwdriver (3 screws bottom of column cover). I suppose it would have been pretty easy to pop the ignition switch with a BFS and start it up while I was in there.

 

IDK, I swear to goodness, that in a repair manual that I have it shows you how to simply start up the truck(98) with a simple little tool. I'm going to try and find it, if I was right.
