Question Stock Running Boards

I have an '02 Screw w/ Lariat trim, and I was wondering if the stock black finnish running boards are paintable? My truck has 2-tone paint and I've seen several of the King Ranch editions have the boards matching the lower trim color. This IMO looks a lot better than the black.

Thanks in advance!

The black plastic boards are paintable. My brother-in-law painted his 98 Lariat steps to match his truck. The body shop that did it for him charged him $120 to paint the running boards and the back side of his clear hood deflector. They matched the gold paint and used the elastic additive used on front bumpers. The steps looked great for about a year. After a year of use they had scratches where his daughters used the steps to climb in and out of the truck. He ended up putting a ruberized anti-slip pad down on top of the boards to cover up the scratches.
