Two Fine Meguiar's Products

Got a chance to try out a couple of Meguiar's Detailer Series products today:

Meguiar's Citri-Gel Multi Purpose Cleaner
Meguiar's Final Detail Spray

First, the Citri-Gel is just the kind of product I've been looking for when it comes to cleaning tires, wheels, wheel wells, and engine compartments. This stuff is a somewhat thick Gel, that can be diluted and is safe for all surfaces. Spray it on the tires and wheels, and the stuff just "clings" to the surface loosening and emulsifying dirt. Walk away for 15 minutes or so, come back and scrub the tires and wheels lightly, rinse, and you get a super clean finish. At around $15 a GALLON, this stuff is a steal.

Now, the Final Detail............ WOW! I've used Meguiar's Quick Detailer, and Final Inspection, and they are nice products. I've also used a lot of other fine QD's, but the Final Detail is in a league of it's own. Talk about adding "POP" to a paint finish!!!!!!!!!! At a price of around $17 a GALLON, I had to look around to make sure no one was watching!

Thanks for the info there Boss. I've never tried the Detailer's Choice stuff from them but, you can bet I'll pick it up now.

So, tell me about this Final Detailer again... good stuff? Loaded with silicones like the QD?

RP,

Yes the Final Detail QD does have silicone in it, and I would suspect that has a lot to do with the "POP". However, it still applys nicely without any streaks. I don't worry about the silicones that Meguiar's uses anyhow, as many of their products like #7, and #26 have silicones in them, and I've never had a problem.

Anyhow, this stuff really is nice. Glossiest QD I've ever used, and I've used a bunch. It also leaves an extremely slick surface. I've been told that the look gets even better after a few QD's with the stuff............ that I've got to see!

Very impressed! I'm going to look into a couple other of their Detailer Series products.

I'm going to have to get my distributor to get me some of this stuff...

Too bad they don't list it on their website nor in their catalog.

Ask Meguiar's for their Detailers Series catalog.

Here's a good place to get it. They can get just about any Meguiar's product.

Here's a place where you can read about the stuff (need to be a dealer to buy):

Yep... You can bet I will.

I buy final inspection by the gallon but, if this stuff is all that you're cracking it up to be (and I sincerely trust your opinion), it sounds like we might have a cheaper substitute for the FI ... that gives better results.

I'm anxious to try it out now!

RP,

Let me know how you like it, as I value your opinion too. Also, you might enjoy reading a thread about it with some people who know the products as well as anybody:

I have to go, somewhat, near my Meguiars Distributor on Monday to meet with a client downtown... I guarantee you that I'll make it by there to see if they have it on the shelf.

I'll post my opinion and results.

Have you tried any of the other Detailer's Choice line products outside the citrus gel and the FD? Anything else I should consider?

I haven't tried any other Detailer's Choice products. However, I've heard great things about the APC+, and the W-dressing, and plan on trying them. I've heard mixed reviews on the Engine-Kote.

Good luck.

Awww, you beat me to it Boss!

I was reading about the Final Detail over at autopia.org and ordered some too.

I've haven't tried the FD yet but it's on the way. I was reading about it over at autopia.org and everyone over there seems to absolutely LOVE the stuff (that and ClearKote's Quick Shine, but it's 2x the price of the FD).

Here's a link to one of the threads over there on this stuff:
http://www.autopia.org/forums/showth...threadid=28394

And someone posted this link for where you could purchase it online:
http://www.detailingdepot.com/

I hadn't heard of them before, but they seem to carry a pretty serious line of detailing products.

Well... my local distributor doesn't carry the 'DETAILERS' line of products (just the professional). So, I'm going to have to order it online I suppose. S&H stinks!

What's the best price you guys have found? It's about $24 shipped from Premiumautocare.com

Thanks!

RP,

Yea, can't help you on that one. You might want to wait until you can get an order together for $75 or more at Premium, as there's no shipping on order over $75.

If not, call around at some other local dealers, and see if they can order it in for you. A lot of them can get it next day.
