Chemical Sealants

Has anyone tried any of the chemical sealants like Granitize's Xzilon Molecular Adhesion http://www.granitize.com/cat/categor...fm?type=Xzilon or Five Star Shine's PTFE product http://www.5starshine.com/index.html.

Just curious what kind of results anyone has gotten with either of these products or something similar. A friend of mine just had his RV done with Xzilon and it looks pretty good.

Thanks
Bill

Two important things:

1. There is no product on the market that will protect your car for 5 years.
2. Teflon (PTFE) is not approrate for automobile paint

Now, sealants are good and provide longer coverage, but stay away from those with Teflon. Klasse, Zaino, Meguairs #20, Platinum UPP are just a few of the better quality ones. Expect to get 5-10 months depending on how you maintain your vehicle.

Zero wax on a new car's paint will keep shining for 5 years. Wash it every week or two and it'll keep looking decent. Today's paints are quite durable. Many people take the shine off with certain products they regularly use like certain shampoos, and must restore or polish it more often.

The teflon thing is hype. Even DuPont, the manufacturer of Teflon says this:

"The addition of a Teflon fluoropolymer resin does nothing to enhance the properties of a car wax. We have no data that indicates the use of Teflon is beneficial in car waxes."

Now, if Dupont had anything to gain by saying that the teflon was a positive ingredient, I think they would've said it and been happy to acknowledge where to pick some up... but, with a statement like that, I'm going to believe them.

Anyone ever tried the Meguiar's sealant? Yep... I'm asking about a Meguiars product that I haven't tried. LOL!
