Side Mirror Chrome Rattlin

I noticed the last time I washed my truck, that the chrome piece that faces the front on the passenger side mirror, is loose and rattles. Has anyone had a problem like this, and/or does anyone have info. on how to fix this problem?

Could be a broken clip on the glamor cap. It didn't look like there was enough area to repair them with JBWeld if they broken off, but I think other memebers have done this.

Here is a write up I did when replacing the chrome glamor caps with painted black ones. You can use the same process to try to see if the clips are borken or un-seated prior to getting a new cap.

If you do a search on the key word glamor and my user name, you will find quite a few posts on the topic.

You can get the chrome caps, black ABS plastic ready to paint or now I have seen glamor caps that match the black trim around the mirror ( black crinkle finish ). I keep meaning to order the new finish ones, to match the other parts so I don't have to wax the back of the mirror.

Good luck.
