speedometer not working
Hello all--on a recent trip my speedometer started behaving eratically. When I came to a stop it read sixty or whatever and when I was driving it might have read any speed. The odometer works fine but I think the needle may be loose on the shaft. Has anyone else had this problem and what can I do about it??

The problem is at the instrument cluster. If the speed sensor were faulty, your truck wouldn't be shifting properly.
You'll probably want to pull the dash apart and make sure that the connections are secure and not corroded. Unless you've removed the needle in the past, that shouldn't be the problem. Just in case though, you can unplug and clean the terminals on the speed sensor. It's located on the passenger side of the transmission extension housing.
