PC RO Sander same as Buffer?

Does anybody see a difference between the PC RO Sander: http://www.lowes.com/lkn?action=prod...000041735-7336
and the RO Polisher:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...&s=hi&n=507846

Just wondering b/c I'd prefer to buy things locally and home depot and lowes dont seem to have the 7274P polisher, but they have the sander. My only concern seems to be if the separate backing pads and polishing pads will attach to the sander. Thanks.

I'm not precisely sure of the difference between the two but I know SEVERAL people have the 7336...

To attach the polishing pads to the machine, you'll have to buy a backing plate. Other than that, either will work.

The 7224 comes with the 5" counterweight, and the 7336 comes with the 6" counterweight. The machines are the same......... just outfitted differently.

sweet, will I have to buy a 5" counterweight to polish/wax correctly?

I guess its time for a spring break clay bar, polish, & wax day...only thing that sucks is that pollen season has started down in georgia, so as soon as i shine it up it'll be yellow.

Not necessarily.............. a lot depends on what pads you get. Some people use both the 5", and 6" counterweight with the Meguiar's 6 1/2" pads with success. If you get bigger pads...... like Lake Country pads............ you'll "want" the 6" counterweight.

Some of the polishers come with a pad but, if I were you, I'd chuck that just as soon as I pulled it out of the box. It's nothing I'd let near ANY painted finish that I own.
