Gracias mi amigos.

It's kind of a bummer to write out a VERY long response like I did in that other 'Tami' thread and not even get a thank you... ya know?

I just clayed this weekend. Wow, what a difference after my first winter in NY. I have to say that it is much more noticeable up in the winter country than what it was in FL though. Now if I can just get the snow to stay away until December.

RP,
Thanks for all the info you and Boss put into the detailing forum. To be honest, I never had heard of claying before I bought my F150 and found this site. I have stocked up on cleaning stuff based largly on what you guys have said. I've always enjoyed cleaning and polishing on my vehicles, but I always just used regular turtle wax. When my fiancee sees me outside washing and polishing on my truck, she just rolls her eyes and laughs at me. She doesn't laugh too much though because I keep her 03 Exlpoder pretty clean.
Anyways, just wanted to thank you for the time and great info you put into this site!

I noticed that too... However thanks for the response on claying...

One more quick question, as far as your technique for the actual moving of the clay, do you just lay down a path of QD spray and then slide the bar along just once or back and forth? And same direction as you would wax?

RP,
Don't get all hung up on Tami. Chances are she forgot to bookmark the site and either lost the page or forgot about it. But just because the original poster wanders off , it doesn't mean the info is wasted. You and Boss have helped thousands of us with all your informative posts. Tami was just the one to start this particular discussion but there's lots of us reading it.

I go back and forth over a small area (approx 3' X 3'). Be sure to make sure you have plenty of lubrication!

Just a tip I learned from Mike Phillips at Meguiar's...

After you form out the piece you are going to use, place the wafer piece of clay so that the outside edge does not extend past the tips of your fingers. That way, when using it, the pressure won't all be on the tips of your fingers and "punch finger-holes" through the clay. Most people tend to position the wafer where half of it extends past the fingers, thus causing you to poke through.

Hope this makes sense.

Oh yeah RP,

Just like RJS said, many people profit from the wealth of info that is published here. Although I know it can be frustrating putting so much time into something that the thread starter asked.

Keep up the good work b/c I know people appreciate it!
