Honestly, I understand your concern with a Dual-Action Polisher (AKA: PC, AKA: DA)... I wish I could calm your fears but, I know that'll simply take you using one first.
Let me say this though... they've pretty much 'idiot-proofed' the power polishing realm with this machine. Unless you're doing silly bone-headed things with the pads and machine, it's almost impossible to really screw your paint. A PC is an EXTREMELY SAFE product...
There is a thing called a rotary buffer... that's a different story but, the PC is a thing of beauty. I used mine today in fact...
If you opt to go for the PC... I'd highly recommend looking at the site that slippy has been talking about. Auto Detailing Solutions.
I went through a 3-day class with the owner of this company and he's a class-act...

Well Im glad to see that the PC your recommending is made by Meguiers, so you swear it wont screw up my paint?
Ok excuse my lack of knowledge but how do I use it? Should I use it will Color X and NXT? ( I assume the NXT is the new tech wax NXT by Meg.? Still interested in the FX by Mothers though)

You can use all of the products that you've mentioned there (mother's included) with the PC.
Different products call for different pads. Here's a VERY nice 'go-by' from Mike Philips (Meguiar's Internet Specialist and resident guru at MOL) for pad and product selection:
Now, you're probably looking at that wondering which pad is what... well, the 8006 pad is a polishing pad (yellow) and the 9006 pad is the finishing pad (tan).
I'd recommend getting a couple of both if you decide to go this route.

About the Xcal...
One word....
YES!
My truck is a totally different truck now. Unbelievably different. Be sure to call Troyer Performance and mention that you're a f150online.com member; membership has it's benefits.

I'm running a totally different motor than you so, I don't think the gains would be comprable.... I had an 01 with a 5.4 but, never tuned it.
Stock HP is around 300 on my 3v 5.4... I figure, with all mods playing a role (intake, tune, exhaust), I'm pushing closer to 350... but, I've never dyno'd.

I'll be dead honest with you. I've applied E1 Nano wax on my truck twice in 3 weeks and it's amazing. It doesn't leave swirl marks. Goes on & off really freakin easy. And with all the rain I've been getting, It was definitely worth all the money. On a black truck in florida weather. It is WORTHY. Go out and buy it. It smells nice too.
