Question Got My Meguiars DA Polisher..How Much Speed Glaze To Use?

Thanks for the help on where to buy & what pads to get. I got some speed glaze to use to remove (hopefully) the swirls the dealer put all over the truck. So, I understand that I put the speed glaze in an X on the pad, put the DA on the truck, and turn it on (speed 4). How much product? How much pressure? How long on each 2x2 area? How do I know when to stop and use a microfiber towel to remove the excess? Back & forth, up & down, or both? Thanks again. I also bought some #21 sealant to use after the speed glaze.

Tami,

Not quite...

Put the Speed Glaze on the pad in the X pattern.
Place the PC on the paint (do not turn on)
Lightly spread the product over the area that you are going to work. This primes the surface of the pad and spreads the product evenly over the area you are going to work.
Now, turn the PC on to about 3 and spread the product around the area you are going to work again, with NO pressure on the pad. This primes the pad and spreads the product even more.
Next, turn the PC up to 4.5 or 5 (without removing it from the paint) and work the area.

Work the SG with "light to moderate pressure" until it just starts to disappear... don't work it until it starts dusting heavily.

I like to work the area as follows...

Go over the entire area in a back & forth motion.
Then go over the entire area in a side to side motion.
Then go over the area diagonally from one side.
Then go over the area diagonally from the other side.
Repeat until the product is worked properly.
Turn OFF the PC "before" you remove it from the paint
Wipe with an MF cloth (use a little QD if necessary)
Check the area and work again if necessary, or move to next section and repeat the entire process

It's hard to say how long it will take. It depends on the size area you are working, the amount of product you are using, how much pressure you are apply and other factors.
Usually a couple of minutes or so... just keep an eye on it.
