Break dusting issue you might.....

I am a detailaholic and the break dust issues on these trucks is some of the worst I have ever seen and it drives me insane. I was in autozone buying some parts the other day and they had this new product there calles Michelin Break Dust repellant. Thought what the heck cant hurt to try. I have only had it on there about 8 days now and the dusting is very minor compared to what it use to be like. Might be something for you guys to look into that are annoyed with the dusting issues. Its around $6 a can, spray on let sit for about a min and then wipe off. So far seems like a nice solution.

No kidding! The brake dust is out of control! I had ceramics on my 01 and dust wasn't an issue. I feel like my wheels are dirty two or three days after a wash with this one. I'll give it a try. As soon as I need brakes though, I'm switching over to ceramic.

I am probably gonna do that before I "need" new ones just because of the dusting issue's.

Your front brakes do the majority of the work when slowing these beasts down. That's why you'll typically need to replace front pads before rear.

We've been looking at this product in General Care and Detailing... the first thread was brought up over a month ago...

Long story short... it appeared that short term testing was positive but yielded mixed results beyond a few days. Further, after review of the MSDS sheet for the product, it contains a large percentage of solvents and thus, it's a pretty sure thing that it's not the best product for keeping wax/sealants on your wheels.

I'm still interested in the thought behind the product because I think there is a market. In fact, I think that Michelin is only one of a few different brands of this type of product on the market now.

RP (help) Anyone ever use Kleenwheel ?

It's like a inner hubcab, mounted on the inside of the wheel between the brakes and wheel. Seems like a good idea but does it adversely affect the brakes and rotor? They claim it doesn't, but was wondering if anyone had experience with it.
The brake dust is driving me nuts too!!!

I've heard both...

I've heard some say that it could cause undue heat build-up with your rotors and I've heard others praise the material they're made with, the people who built them, and the idea for a product...

It's a toss up.
