Help, new work car-- question on when to wax??

I have a new 2005 black Ford Crown Vic. work car. The problem is that the car sits under an oak tree that drops sap. I want to get the vehicle protected asap. How soon can I wax this new beast??? Thanks guys. Jon

Wax it tonight. New cars don't have any special 'no-wax' periods. Go protect it... NOW!

Like D said, wax it as soon as you want to. Although waxing won't make the tree sap droppings slide off... Best thing to do is just avoid that oak tree...

Sap from an Oak tree? Are you sure it isn't a pine (or whatever conifer trees you have in Illinois)? You better get some DNA, I think you are accusing the wrong parking location.

My problem with oaks is the dropping acorns/squirrels/droppings/pollen.

Here in Illinois the acorns don't drop every year, though the dam birds drop every day. The sap does fall on a regular basis. This is my first black car and I will have it for several years. Had a 2003 Impala, GOOD BY!!! Thanks guys I will clay, use a cleaner, and then a few good coats of wax. Jon
