Paint sealer

Does anybody know anything about a paint sealer sprayed on over the exterior paint? Does it prevent scratches at all? Cost? I saw that jimsfauns listed it as one of his mods in the gallery section. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Depends on the definition of 'paint sealant'.

If it's the addition of something at the dealership, my advice would be to go gamble the money away at a casino as you'd have a better chance of the money being worth something versus spending it on the 'dealer option' of sealant...

Now, if you're talking about a product like Zaino, Klasse, or another 'sealant', it's probably worth it...

As for it preventing swirls/scratches... no, not really. It will provide surficial protection and can take the blunt end of more abuse but prevention is not a word that I'd utilize to describe a sealant... protection yes... prevention of scratches no.

If you ever actually got to watch the application of the "sealer" at a dealership, you'd cry. It's the closest thing to "dealer profit in a bottle" I've ever seen. Like RP says, spend your money elsewhere. The stuff flat out does not work.
