Question How do I Remove Dynamat from Cloth

While doing the roof I accidentally let some Dymanat "strings" droop onto the seat. Any suggestions on removal?

Thanks.

It's adhesive backed? I've never worked with the stuff....

Have you tried a hair dryer or something similar to heat it up to peel it back?

Hey RP,

Well, it's somewhat adhesive-backed, definitely. Dymanat basically is a big, black gob of sticky stuff with an aluminum cover. If it was a big chunk removal would be easy. Somehow, a "string" (sort of like when you stretch your chewing gum and it makes a tiny string) drooped onto the passenger headrest and has stayed there ever since. I got about 1cm on my shorts and it's still on there a year later, probably after at least 40 washes. That Dymanat Extreme stuff is evil man!

Hmm....

Heat probably isn't the best choice...

Seems like I've heard of people using ice to chill the stuff so that it comes out easier...

As an off the wall idea, I noticed where Compound W (the wart removal people) are now selling some kind of 'wart freeze' product on the market. I wonder if you could freeze the goo and then remove it with ease?

That's a tough one man...

As long as the dynamat is solvent based you can goto to a carpet layer supply place & they sell Roberts 901 solvent & cleaner and it will remove just about anything from carpets, fabrics & so much more. I have a gallon jug that i keep on hand for glue removal and accidents around the house or garage.
Later Trev
P.S. I think even Home Depot sells it as well.

Just in case anybody tries it, the wart stuff is not cold, it's a form of acid, and you don't want that on your stuff, they just use the name because before it became politically incorrect they used to sell freon cans that you could use to freeze something, like a wart, etc. to remove it.
Not hijacking, just didn't want someone to spend 20+ bucks for nothing.
