Thanks for the support fellas. It's not the end of the world, but it's just enough to upset me for a while. To make matters worse, tonight the strap came off my Gibson SG guitar while I was playing and it fell onto the concrete. Not a whole lot of damage, but it still ruined my day. When it rains it pours.

Plymouth Reliant and Dodge Aries were the K-cars.

The same platform underpinned the Dodge Omni/Plymouth Horizon hatchbacks and the first gen Magic Wagons (minivans) I believe the first gen Laser/Daytona was also on this platform.

They were Lee Iaccocas mass production vehicles that restored Chrysler from bankruptcy.

I just got egged too...

I was driving back from a wedding (nighttime), passed an oncoming car and I heard two really loud "thumps"--I was sure my windshield was broken (luckily it wasn't). I thought about turning around to chase after the car, but it was a two-lane country road. When I got to a gas station to check out the damage, it looked like my truck was hit by two rotten, hard-boiled eggs, one on the lower windshield and one on the roof. I just started immediately cleaning the egg off with a squeegee. The problem that I have now is with the smell. I guess some of the rotten egg got into my ventilation system. So, when I start my truck, rotten egg smell comes out the vents. I've cleaned my truck since, but I still get a bit of the rotten egg smell.... Friggen kids!!!!

Soowee,
Sorry to hear about that. I guess I can look on the bright side. . . at least my truck doesn't smell like eggs anymore. I'm not really sure how you could get that smell out of your system.

dunno bout the Laser/Daytona, but that silly excuse for a fwd Charger was based on the same platform.

Luckily I haven't caught an egg on my paint but very recently I did have someone throw a rock through my windshield as I was driving past the projects in my hometown. I wouldn't suggest doing what I did next but you should have seen the kids scatter when I turned around and floored it towards them (seems that the roar of an agitated 5.4 scares the sh%t out of them) Then the look on the face of the kid that I actually caught was even more impressive when I stuck my pistol in his face and made him wait until the cops showed up. Little bastard squeeled on his buddies like you wouldn't believe and they had to buy me a new windshield. Anyway, word must travel fast in my local projects because now every time I drive by those teenagers run like hell

You know, I've been hearing a lot of this " Stupid Kids With Too Much Time " Stereotype.

And About How Every Darn 16 Year Old Kid is overly Obsessed With " HEMI's " false Media Performance.

It's Kind Of Annoying, because in all reality, Not all Kids ( If Not most ) Don't go around egging things. It is an immature thing to do. But is overly-stereotyped Thing. And Don't have to be a certain age to do something. Some People are Just A**Holes.

Yeah, I'm 15.

Difference Is, I've developed My own Opinions on things, by expirence * Yeah, ALLLLLL 10 memorable years of it. And not by what the media pumps out into your head about Hemi's. Not that a Hemi has to do ANYTHING with Being Egged.

Oh Well, this was kind of pointless I'm just kind of sick of hearing how everyone stereotypes every kid as some Hot Shot Hemi Jerk, And Decides to throw eggs at EVERY Ford Truck.

Likely Story...

Flareford150,

I can't really add anything to your 16-year old being obsessed with Hemis argument because, frankly, I have no idea what you're talking about. However, I would like to say something about the "kids" who egged my truck. I feel confident referring to them as kids because I've never known a 40-year old man who throws eggs at cars. It is an immature and inconsiderate thing to do and that is precisely why a KID would do it. I was in high school not all that long ago and I do have a little insight on the kind of stupid things that kids do . . . egging cars being one of them. I'm happy to hear that you're more mature than most kids your age and haven't reverted to vandalizing the property of others.

GABoyinTroupCo.

Good story, it gave me a much needed laugh. If I had witnessed those kids throw an egg at my truck, you can bet that I'd have my .40 in their face too.

Craig,
How did you know that I carry a .40??? I actually thought they were shooting at me at first because I heard a loud pop and saw a little starburst hole in my wind shield. That story is 100% true and I believe the little effer that got the pistol in his face shat his pants.

FlareFord150... I understand what you are saying and I made the same exact argument six years ago when I was your age... but as you grow a little older, if you haven't figured it out yet, you will be surprised at how it seems that a lot of teenagers are nothing more then a bunch of F#@k heads. Plus, from experience, I haven't had grown men throw rocks through my windshield.... just teenagers. Of course if it had been a grown man he would have had one hell of an a$$ whipping on his hands that night. Anyway just stay cool and don't become a little sh*t like a bunch of these kids are now. And I'm not sure I understand your whole Hemi vs. Ford theory either. Most teens I see, at least in my area, are doing good to be driving a ricer with a huge wing on the back.... not a $35,000 Dodge.

Angry Just makes me mad

Sorry to here that I am not the only one this has happened to.
I picked up my new 05 XLT Scab last Saturday afternoon, all was well Saturday night, drove around to show off my new baby to some family and friends Sunday, parked it in my driveway sunday night making sure that the yard lights were working before going to bed. Monday morning I went to go to work and noticed yellow goo all over my truck, promtly grabbed the hose and started to rinse off the offending gelatinous mess when I noticed that the paint was scratched and chipped in multiple places on the hood, in a few spots it was down to bare metal. I promptly filed a police report and a claim with the insurance company. They called today to inform me that there was just shy of $300 damage done to the hood of my baby(less than 48 hours old mind you). Now I have to be without my BRAND new truck for over a week while repairs are done. These punk kids these days need to have some discipline like when I was a kid. You catch a beat down now and then you think twice about doing this stuff.

treekiller1,

First off, welcome to the family here at f150online. I'm sure you'll find the plethora of knowledge on this board very useful; I know I sure did, and still do. Anyway, I'm really sorry to hear about your truck. Believe me though when I say that I can feel your pain. I must admit that yours even tops mine because my truck is much more than 48 hours old. I know there's not much I can say or do, but I know that it sucks.
