Some A$$hole Egged My Truck!
I just moved in with my girlfriend a couple days ago and the first night I stayed there, I awoke the next morning to three eggs plastered on my truck. I was so furious that I seriously wanted to shoot the little sh#thead that did it. I don't know anyone in the new city I'm living in that has an issue with me and the truck was parked in a nice neighborhood next to a yacht club for God's sake. All I can figure is that I was the victim of some punk high school kids out vandalizing other people's stuff. Anyway, they hit the side of my tonneau cover and chipped the paint pretty bad. It also has that wonderful "spiral" shape that only an egg shell can make. Aside from that egg, they threw two other ones at my front grille. One went directly into the grille and splattered all over my AC condenser and radiator. The other hit part of the painted trim, leaving another one of those wonderful "spirial" shapes. Needless to say, I'm infuriated that someone actually had the nerve to do this to me. I will however say that whoever it was is lucky I didn't wake up and come downstairs with my .40. I know I know, I probably wouldn't have shot them (because I'd go to jail) but you can bet I would have let a few rounds off into the air. I guess my question is how can I fix the egg marks without re-painting the entire toneau cover and grille trim?

It always coincides with the dismissal of school, be it Summer, Spring Break etc...

All of the shel and yolk goo is off, but I had to scrub the heck out of my paint which made me cringe. The egg that hit the toneau cover took some serious paint off and is a complete eye sore for me know. It's even on the driver's side so I'm forced to see it everytime I get into my truck. I'll post some pics of it when I get a chance. If you've never seen what eggs can do, it's pretty brutal. They leave these nasty ring-shaped, 2 inch diameter crevices imbedded into the paint. I've been told the only way to get rid of them is to repaint the entire panel that was hit. Does anyone know any different?

I took delivery of a brand new car in 1967, the night I picked it up from the dealers I met a car load of kids coming my way, they leaned out the windows and let loose with eggs. Had to have the hood and left front fender repainted and I was just sick, it never looked the same to me again.
I am very sorry to hear this happened, eggs do a lot of damage.

[QUOTE=Ford Lariat]What's a K-Car?
What's really scary is that I remember when these came out my brother-in-law bought one (yellow with fake woodgrain sides and a vanity plate that read K-CAR!) and I thought to myself after going for a ride that it was a pretty nice little car!
What a long way we have come over the past 20 years in the world of automotive design!

See if Google can help. K-car was the generic name for many Chrysler models sharing the same design. It was one of Chrysler's first monoframe vehicles (The body is actually part of the frame structure). They cranked out millions of them in the 80's and they all looked like ugly boxes. I think they were also all front wheel drive, which was a huge step backwards in reliability from their previous rear wheel drive cars.
