I've tried the Chenille mitts from Meguiar's and don't think much of them although, some really like them. They were really linty in my opinion.

My favorite mitt is a SW Arnold Sheepskin mitt. By far, it hold more solution and is much softer than anything else I've used.

Like Josh mentioned, a lot of the swirls that most experience are introduced during washing with improper techniques. A good mitt, IMO, is the first line of defense on swirl-prevention. Couple that with good technique, good chemicals, and a lot of common sense and you're going to minimize the problem.

Boars hair brush works great, expensive but great. Plus it comes with a long wooden handle for those who have supercrews.

I'm also a fan of 100% Cotton mitts or high quality lambs wool/sheepskin mitts. As RP said, the new Meguiar's mitts really do have a lot of lint. Too bad, as they are very plush.

I've never noticed any lint with my Meg's wash mitt. My truck is white, so that helps. A thorough rinse takes care of any lint that may come from the wash mitt.

most cotton chenille mits are very linty at first. smack somebody in the face with one and they'll look like a friggin sheep

after one or two times washing the truck though most of the loose lint has fallen out and they are good to go. and the lint isnt going to stick to your truck or anything...you are rinsing the paint after you wash it with the mit, so the lint on the mit the first one or two times using it is really no big deal at all and less aggressive than a wool mit

To get the top of my cab I used a Meguiars Body Brush, saves from climbing into the bed and standing on my tool box.

To get the rest of the body I kind of rotate between different things. Though I mainly rotated between the Meguiars Body Brush and the Meguiars Microfiber Quick Detail Pad. Sometimes I just use a 100% Cotton Terry Clothe Towel, they work really good for getting at tight spots.

I use a Meguiar's mitt (forgot which one, the cotton/chenille one I guess) for everything except the last inch or so and the wheel wells, I use an old sponge (soft side, of course) for those areas, since whatever scratches I may put in the lowest part of the truck won't matter much and I don't wanna get anymore dirt or sand in my wash mitt than necessary. I use a soft bristled brush for the front bumper to pick dead bugs off.

We have an absolutely awesome high-pressure, touchless carwash over here and I just roll on through once a week...twice if I get really messy in between. Only cost 8 bucks and I have yet to see one little smidge of dirt or grime afterward. My rig still looks like it rolled off the showroom floor. Not a single marr in the paint or trim anywhere! This thing rocks!

Yes. I too like the microfiber towels.

I usually buy a pack of maybe 6 or so at wal-mart. They are blue and white microfiber towels. Very soft and very nice to use without scratching.

Go buy some now!
