white lettered tires

Hey guys... I wash my truck every week and get it looking real nice, but one thing really bothers me... I can't get the white lettering to look white again. I scrub and scrub the wheels (especially the fronts) and they dont seem to get much better. Any suggestions on how to get them looking new again.

P.S. my truck is only 3 months old, so I know they can be white again

WESTLEYS BLEACH WHITE and a soft brass brush. They can be found as Autozone or your local autoparts store..

Just this week, I went to clean my raised white letters and I was out of Wesley's Bleach White I thought that I would give Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser a shot. I just hosed down the tires and with a few easy wipes across the letters they were nice and white and it has been several months since I last cleaned the raised whites!!

Can't go wrong with a brillo pad, it works the best for me. Good luck.

Definitely try a quick search on this one... Like DrP mentioned, we've rocked this boat... no we haven't... this boat capsized.

I use the brillo pads with the soap already in them and they work great. IMHO I don't think anything else can get those letters whiter or cleaner.

Have fun,

Brian

I now use comet and the Megs tire brush. It works well. I gave up using the bleach White after all the warnings here.

Trust Me On This

Use Mineral Spirits from Home Depot or something, put onto a rag and wipe letters, black comes right off, no scrubbing.

I use Soft Scrub and a stiff brush. I discovered years ago after I ran out tire cleaner. It has never harmed my wheels, although I usually rinse it off soon after scrubing the tires.
