Question New Truck Waxing

I have a new F150 on order and plan on waxing it when it comes in

Should I polish and wax or do I need to just put a couple coats of wax only?

I plan on using nxt wax

the truck is aspen green if that makes any difference

thanks in advance

most places will give you a clean truck but sometimes their is rail dust an other crap in the paint already, so check it out first an if needed give her the ole clay polish an wax...

Being a rookie at detailing, When I got my truck 2 weeks ago, I gave it a thorough wash using what the guys here recommended, then 2 coats of NXT. I figure I'll save the Clay/Polish and whatnot until next spring. I don't think the paint is too bad right now.

NXT is super easy to work with, but I don't think it holds up to the weather so great. Yesterday I washed, put on a coat of NXT, then a coat of #26 a few hours later. I think the #26 topper makes the shine much deeper. We'll see how it holds up...

Good to go right ahead and start working on it.

The 2nd day I had my truck I polished it and got a coat of wax on her. About to polish her again since I think I finally got my water drip problem fixed.

I clayed and waxed my truck when it was two weeks old. While sitting on the lot 'stuff' can accumulate on the horizontal surfaces. Dealer prep is marginal at best.

BTW, if you find rail dust in your truck, then see if you can take it back and check to see if they'll still do Ford's STB for Iron Particles in the paint. It's basically the AutoInt ABC paint decontamination paint product they're applying to the truck. Here's the TSB for it but it's from 99'

On mine I don't even have plates for yet, I did the whole enchilada, clay, cleaner, polish, wax. It'x smooth as a babies butt. But, mine had a build dae of 10/04. It'd been sitting around collecting stuff.

If it were mine (and mine did receive this treatment within a few days of coming home), I'd go with a full clay treatment, maybe a polish and definitely two coats of a last step product (wax).
