Yes they are stock. It is a 2005 king ranch.

I have the gray plastic ones on my lariat and use a pressure washer with really good results.

When I'm too lazy to pull the pressure out I just use regular car wash soap and big soft-medium bristle brush. It does pretty good but doesn't get it all off.

I usually use a Mr.Clean Magic Eraser while I'm cleaning mine. Works pretty quickly

I would discourage using the MrC ME on the 2005 running boards. On the 2001-2003 boards, I'd say go for it...

Ford apparently changed manufacs of that part when the 05' KR rolled. The plastic on my old 2001 KR boards was very porus and didn't, seemingly, have any type 'coating' on the plastic. The MrC worked WONDERFULLY on them... however, several folks have reported having problems with the MrC on new truck (04+) plastic parts.

Long story short, I don't want you to be the guinea pig on the running boards without absolute certanity that it'll work with success. I suppose you could try them on the underside to see though...

What you're looking for, from a damage perspective, is a whitening of the plastic itself. This is caused by the abrasive cleaning action of the MrC ME.

If it were mine (and I have an 05 KR), I'd be reluctant. Thusfar, I haven't had to 'deep clean' my boards though...

I have the Westin Stepboards (black polymer) on my truck. What works for me is a good scrubbing using a medium bristle brush and Meg's Gold Class wash/shampoo. Same stuff I use on the body. I dress 'em up with Mother's Back to Black, then I issue the family a stiff warning:

Not to discount what Pete has said but, you probably don't want to use Back To Black on your Arizona Beige running boards... it's meant for black stuff...

But, like Pete... my family has marching orders to a similar tune on the boards. My wife has FINALLY learned to use the handles to pull her way in... Aren't running boards just for decoration anyway? Decoration or for an eldery person to get up and in the vehicle? LOL!

GAH! Good catch, Rock. By the time I got to the sixth post, I had forgotten all about the runningboards being beige.

Apologies to Vernon. Now, if they'd only make Mother's Back To Beige..... LOL!

I want everybody to use my stepboards as they where intended for . Last truck I had didn't have them and the edges of the seats wore out and got deformed over time from people sliding off the seat to touch the ground to get out. I can see this happening even easier with these new trucks the way the seats are designed.[

Point well taken considering that I am only 5'6" and have some boards on my ride.

I'm old and fat so I use the boards. And like Racer said that's what they are there for. If you don't use them where do scrape the mud of your boots before you get in? You guys do take you trucks to the mud don't you???
