I wonder if some companies have identical ingredients.?

With the plethora of car products- waxes, cleaners, etc. There has to be some products with identical ingredients and formulas. Some of the window cleaners smell the same. Perhaps there are some companies that share formulas. Just curious.

Naturally, as you could imagine, most all of the formulas for most products are protected under trade secret laws but, it's not uncommon for someone to make a product for someone else and put it in their bottle.

Take Meguiar's ***OLD*** Detailer Line of products (D-Line). These were all made by a secondary source somewhere up on the east coast. They bottled it, smacked a Meg's label on it, distributed it to Meg's warehouses, and bam-o, a Meg's product not made by Meg's. They have since brought almost all of the D-Line in house though...

Most detailing products are very, very similar. In many cases, it's simply a matter of the quality and quantity of certain ingredients that separates one product from another. Yes, sometimes that small change in quality or quanity of ingredients can make a large difference... sometimes not!
