ok i like ur thinking boss. what pads should i get 7006, 8006 and 9006. what pad will i be using and for which product, that will help me decide. thanks again

This might be a help for both of you... This was put together by the admin at meguiarsonline.com... I have a laminated copy that I keep with my detailing aresonal as it's a great resource...

BTW, I typically go with the 'inbetween' number. For example, when it says 3 - 5, I'll typically run a 3.5 or 4. Generally speaking, this is my rule of thumb...

As for Z products specifically, I'm going to let Boss address that as I'm not as familar with the new Z-pc product... my hunch is yellow pad but, I'm not certain so I'll let him handle it as he's much more versed, all the way across the board, than I am.

Glad to help.

You'll note that you don't see a 7006 pad anywhere on that chart. The reason is that you need a rotary to achieve the necessary RPM and heat needed to get this pad to really work well. The PC simply can't fit that bill with a cutting pad... Hope that helps! G'luck and be sure to get some before and afters!

Yep, that would be a good hunch!

While I have used a light cutting pad (from a different manufacturer) and a Meguiar's finishing pad with the ZPC, I most often use the yellow polishing pad. Depending on the pad, and effect I want, I usually run the PC from 4 to 5 with the ZPC.

The guide that RP posted is an excellent one... print it out, or save it to disk.

hey boss. do u/can u apply z2/z5 with a pc? is so again which pads/speed

You can, but until you get use to doing it, you can use quite a bit of product. Once you have it down, you actually can use less product.

To apply just about any LSP with a PC, I recommend using the finishing pad with the PC set to around 3.

I normally don't use a PC to apply an LSP. However, I certainly understand the benefits that others find in using the PC for this purpose.

Wow that is a great tool. I'll be printing that off for my detail bucket. Thanks again RP! I'm going to try and wax on Sunday if I have time inbetween replacing a b pillar again and installing the exhaust.
