Talking My wife says I may have OCD

Only because she came home this afternoon and found me with the rear wheels off for a spot of spring cleaning

Before - Winter will do this to your truck

Getting better - Need to paint the chasis rails though

Of course it's normal to clean the backs of the wheels

Then again, she may have a point.

Mrs. OnBelay has accused me of staying up at night, trying to figure out if there is supposed to be a hyphen in **** retentive...or is it ****-retentive?

Thumbs up

Damn, Englishadam! I Cannot Believe How Clean You Got The Back Of Your Rims. How The Hell Did You Do That? How Long Did It Take? Thanks, Dave K.

Looks good Adam!

Now come do my truck, it's ugly dirty and our weather hasn't been cleaning friendly yet this year

Heh, that's funny you posted that. Today I did the same thing, but I also use Rubberized undercoating for the wheel wells and the frame. Then, I also painted ALL of the rusted areas on the brake system with black high temp caliper paint, including my calipers since I had it apart to install my new Porterfield pads.

The end result is an undercarriage that looks like you could eat off of it. It REALLY sets the truck/paint off when complete.

Red face I must have OCD also

I did the same to my Roush wheels yesterday. However I never thought to take a pic until I put the wheels back on..Next I gotta clean the rest of the underside of the truck and touch up the rust spots where they missed a few spots painting at the factory.Having my own lift contributes to my OCD.

I wish I had a lift

To answer Dave K's question, the HD rims are chrome so you just wask the accumulated crud off and wax them with your fave wax.

A couple more shots. I was under there to fit my new LFP traction bars and as my buddies at the club will be crawling under the truck to check them out, I just had to detail under there too.
I still need to paint the propshaft and decisce what to do with the frame rails.

Gosh... you're reminding me that I need to pull my wheels and do the same... LOL! Nice work man... very nice work!

I need to start a thread PROOVING that my truck isn't perfect -- the inner wheels, swirls, and copius rock chips will proove that it's far from perfect. Yours is much closer than mine right now...

I'm going to put my truck up on my ramps tomorrow morning and take my pressure washer to the bottom of the truck.

How do you guys get the black to look so shinny and clean under there? Spray on Tire dressing or something??

Looks like EnglishAdam did some painting under his truck, that's why his looks so good.
Be careful with a pressure washer under there, too much pressure will remove old paint and undercoating and you'll end up with bare metal.

Well spotted. I have been under there with the Satin Black.
When you first paint it on, frankly it looks terrible, i.e. too shiny and new but it soon dulls down and if you hose the undercarriage off when you do your normal wash routine, it stays looking pretty good.

As we all know, if your truck is a daily driver, it's going to get dirty both on top and underneath. That is totally unavoidable.
However, for us members of Detailers Anonymous, there's always a job to do.
When the weather gets better here, I will attend to the whole underneath of the truck.
It sounds like a plan for Easter weekend when I have extra time off work
