What to use on plastic trim - so no streaks!

Ok, my truck is black (2004 F-150 Lariat). You know the plastic trim on the bed tops, the plastic mirror backs, the rubber around the windows, the plastic door handles...ALL black and in need of amor all or something of that sort. Problem is, anything I've tried leaves nasty streaks down the side of my truck when it rains! Anyone know of something that doesn't streak/run off like that?...and still keeps your plastic (black) trim nice and dark...and maybe even a tiny bit shiny?

Is there such a miracle product???

I haven't used it, but I hear 303 Aerospace is the only product that will do the trick. The other important factor is to use as little as possible and really spread it around thinly

I have been using Meguiars #40 for years with good results and just recently Jeff's Werkstatt Satin Prot. Both are top notch products.

There are no miracle products and everyone's opinion is pretty subjective -- including mine...

I've always had very good luck with Vinylex for these areas. Minimal rain streaking, good durability, and it's a highly respected product amongst the detailing world (but, then again, so are 303 and #40)... Specifically, I really like using the Vinylex Wipes (pre-saturated wipes). I can do just about every hard plastic surface on my truck with one or two.

Give a few a try and judge for yourself... that's the only way to get true satisfaction.

I remember my Explorers lower cladding & mirrors, bumper, and that plastics stuff was black, i use to wax it... after it rained it had white spots in it, it almost looked cool like carbon fiber but no, bad idea. So i juts wash it when i wash the whole truck then leave it

I've not tried it personally, but my friend swears by 303 Aerospace. I've also used something called black chrome that seemed to work OK.

Eagle One Wax as You Dry keeps everything looking good, including the soft tonneau cover and all the plastic pieces with no problems with streaks or runs when it rains!

Here's what I use--for the handles anyway.
My truck is black also and the chrome really looks nice.
They have them for the tailgate too.

And finally, if anybody is not using this stuff,
you're really missing the boat on keeping all your
plastic looking new. Link below picture

I've always used the tire shine gel. The gel stuff is Key. It blackens it well, and keeps a shine for a while. I've never noticed any streaking either.

Just my two Lincolns!
