Removing scratches on mirror cover

I apologize if this has been covered somewhere along the way, searches didn't help me. I scraped some hedges with my passenger mirror on my 05. There are some light scratches left behind. Anyone have ideas on what to use to remove them? I was thinking Meg's PlasticX(sp?) but if I recall it's for smooth surface plastics, they mirror covers are textured. Also found a thread from way back about using 2000grit paper soaked in a bucket for 30 mins or so, but again that sounds like a smooth plastic solution. Any ideas???

I'd leave it alone honestly... you can try to make it smooth but, you're in for a NIGHTMARISH battle. Trust me. Replace it if you wish to go any route other than taking it to a body shop to be painted.

Get chrome mirror covers and call it a day. Putco makes some inexpensive ones. This way next time, well if there is a next time you can just replace them.
