Tire Shine???

I have tried several different kinds of the "wet-tire look tire shine", and none of them seem to last very long. (ie: 1-2 days.) Does anyone have any better success? If so, what do you use?

Meguiar's Endurance Gel (readily available at nearly every store on earth) is a fantastic product. If you're willing to spend $40 for a gallon, Meguiar's Hyper Dressing is TOP NOTCH.... and dilutable to your specification of gloss. So, in short, even for high gloss, $40 will buy you two gallons worth at 1:1 ratio.

Endurance Tire Gel is available in 10 oz bottles I believe... mind you, I was talking about two separate products in my last post.

As for Hyper Dressing, unfortunately, it's only available by the gallon -- unless you go through www.autodetailingsolutions.com (which sells many of the D-line (detailer) products in smaller proportions.

Hey RP, have you tried the turtle wax tire gel. I have used this and it works pretty well. I just want to know how it compares to the Megs.

Honestly, I haven't tried it. There are lots of great products out there in the sea... it's just a matter of catching the ones that you like and sticking with them (with an occasional 'try it out' period for other stuff ).

Hey RP, is the hyper dressing solvent based? I saw it on the truck, we try and only use water based though, since the others that give that wet look love to sling all up the side of hte car.

Turtle Wax Tire Wax is what I use. Doesn't fling...lasts a long time...and looks alot more natural then those spray ons (smells good too! lol).

Water-based... Not totally certain but, 90% sure on that one.

You can go beyond the 4:1... I use 5:1 for a matte look as well. I tried a small batch at 6:1 and it was definitely too watery... 5:1 is as diluted as she'll go...

I really like the stuff... if you give it a try, let me know what you think...

Maybe someone else has had a different experience, but my advise is to use none of the tire shine products if you live on a dirt road. The dust loves this stuff and even though a lot of it is water-based, if you don't get it off as soon as it turns brown - well, it takes a while and to a certain extent, literally has to wear off.

I hate the stuff - I obviously live on a dirt road.
