Put What I Learned Here to Good Use

OK, so it’s finally getting warm up here in the great white north (that would be warm enough where liquid wax doesn’t freeze on the pad), so I decided to take all of the neat tips and tricks I’ve read about here and put them to work.

First step – wash the beast using the “two bucket method.” All I could remember was that one needed Dawn dishwashing soap in one bucket and something else in the other. After some deep thought, I decided to fill the second bucket with ice and tall, frosty adult beverages. Geez, now I know why this method is so popular with you guys! Are you sure two buckets are enough though?

Second step – clay. Hmmm, must have used it to caulk the windows last fall. I did have a ton of Play-Doh left over from one of my son’s Science class projects though. That should be close enough. Man, what a mess. I thought you guys said this stuff would remove minor stuck on gunk? All I ended up with was a rainbow colored truck. No problem, I was now a pro with two buckets.

Step 3 – wax. I remember RockPick rolling through all of the different kinds (numbers) of Meg’s products. I thought the first one was Number 7. All I could find with that number on it was down behind the bar. I guess this stuff is a liquid and not a paste wax. Man, was it runny. Maybe it was because the bottle said this was the “old” number 7? It seemed like I went through the bottle pretty quick too. Boy, the truck was really starting to look good – when I could focus on it.

Step 4 – pictures. Everybody seems to post pictures of their trucks after they wax. Well, at least they think they’re posting pictures of their trucks. All I see are funny reflections of the owners in their trucks. Me, I got real pictures of the owner. Well, truth be told, the local police department got some nice pictures of me (front and side) after determining that I was DUI – which apparently means Detailing While Intoxicated – right? What’s that honey? Oh, gotta go. It’s time for my medication.

Geez, a friend of mine just told me I might have gotten maybe just a few details wrong. Could it be?

LMFAO!!!!!!!!!

I have several additional buckets that I will be willing to bring to act as the "second" bucket

I will have to remember your steps because hopefully I will be detailing in the next few weeks.

LOL RP,

Depending on how many times he refilled #2 and where he went for # 1 from the increased amounts of emptying bucket #2 I don't think it would matter what # it was. That was just a great read

RP,

Old #7 isn't wax? It certainly "waxed" my butt!

Hope you all had as much fun reading it as I did writing it!

That original post was hilarious. It's a funny outsiders look to the detailing "lingo" that is used all the time here.

What was even funnier was when RP said there is a "HUGE" problem because #7 isn't a wax. I think I laughed so hard I almost went #1.

That was a good one. We should have a contest in the General forum for this.
