I've actually communicated with that company. The jist of the conversation was that this was okay if you had very soft water and just wanted a 'polisher' to try to keep that little bit of dissolved solids out of your rinse water... in short, if you've got horrible water like I do, it's not going to help. Additionally, she said that I'd be going through filters at an alarming rate thus making the unit pretty expensive pretty quick.

I just bought the SpotFREE 2500 unit from ADS, and I have a tds tester so I'll post the difference in tds once I receive the filter.
Sorry don't mean to highjack the thread. I'm just stoked I finally bought one of these and it comes in by the end of the week or beginning of next week.

I hope you get yours quickly, Mine did not ship until Friday.(a week after I ordered) Because they ship direct from SpotFree, Rick checked on it for me and UPS is supposed to deliver mine Wednesday

I also purchased A TDS meter, I'll post mine as well.

I got your email E... did you see mine concerning the lack of a replacement carbon block filter at Depot?

I'm going to try to get in touch with Rick w/ SF to see what the 'rule of thumb' is to replacing that thing... Rick at ADS wasn't sure. The filter is very bulky and heavy. It is, indeed, a block of carbon. My hunch is that I'm trying to replace it prematurely...

Are you noticing diminished results already?

The carbon block filter is a pre filter -- as you know. I'm not sure how to guage if and when that particular filter is giving way... it's easy to guage with the resin filter.

How many washes are you getting out of the resin filter before the quality declines?

Yeah I know it ships from Spot Free in Ohio. But I'm patient, . Mine should come in late this week or early next week. I guess it'll help people that live in our areas tho with our results. Let's see whos water is worse and the improvment. Mine reads 468 on tap water.

Uhmm.... 6 washes or so. It's not a dramatic decrease but, noticable. I have been regen'ing after 10 or so.

468 ppm on the tds meter is considered very hard, at 500 it may be harmful if consumed. Luckly I have softened water inside that reads 8 ppm. But so is the 300 range for carwashing.
