Rip in Leather Seat

I have a small rip in the left side of the driver's seat. I just bought the truck and it looks like the last owner tried to fix it. It has some kind of tape on it and the leather is flaking off around it. Should I have some of that leather replaced or is there something I can do myself to fix it. Thanks, Mac

Best bet is to find an interior upholstry person and have them give it a look. I've seen at least one seat where they utilized a 'fix-it' type of system and it really looked good.

The owner told me that the guy said it'd last about 5 years and then would probably start to give way and would either need to be replaced or would need to be repatched. This owner also mentioned that his seat bottom would've run around $250 ... the fix-it was $60... it looked very good.

Check around! Good luck!
