Reapiring clearcoat on wheels

I am going to get my wheels and tires rebalenced, when they do this I am going to have them put the weights on the back, I am guessing that the coating on the wheels is damaged under the weights.

What is the best way to repair?

Treat it just like paint. Depending on severity, try scratch-x, then a polish, then a wax (this will rremove scratches, oxidation, etc.; make them shiny; and protect them)

I don't mean to shoot you down, but don't get your hopes up too high. If the clear is completely scratched off, you're SOL. if there's too much damage, same thing. But, if it's minor and it's something that would rdinarily come out of paint, than you should be fine. And yes, PICS please.

My old Ranger had major chips and cracks in the clear coat. What I did was have them media blasted, then I repainted and then 3 coats of clear.
