How's this (Megs) wash mitt?
It looks like a good one, but I was interested
in knowing from somebody that may have used it
already. Seems versatile, per below.
Microfiber Super Thick Wash Mitt
Super Thick Microfiber Wash Mitt provides
the ultimate in softness and surface protection.
The clear coat safe Microfiber lifts and traps
dirt and grime for a radiant swirl-free finish.
The comfort-fit cuff and soft inner lining
make this wash mitt a pleasure to use.
The Super Thick Microfiber Wash Mitt, when dry,
works great to remove any Meguiar’s spray detailers.

I definately would NOT use it, especially on a dark color vehicle. About a year ago, I used one of Meguiar's microfiber washmits, and it introduced A LOT of swirl marks into my finish. It took several hours to get them all out... From now on, I only use m/f washmits for the non-painted parts of my truck (chrome bumpers, grill, lights, windows, etc). They will never again touch my paint!

I just purchased one of these below. Makes sense for me, considering the grit factor. From what I've read they can't keep them on the shelves. And also selling even better in Canada.
By forming a pocket between two layers of their unique foam compositions, they’ve made a foam wash mitt that retains its shape, sheds dirt and fits your hand like a glove.
a multi-purpose foam mitt that utilizes a ultra soft soap-retaining foam to wash the car.The ShMITT utilizes material that has already been proven safe and effective on vehicle surfaces because it’s the same foam found in Edge 2000 pads.
REDUCE SCRATCHES-Miantain that perfect finish wash after wash after wash. Wash with the gentle white foam front. This is the same foam found in the Edge white ultrafine polishing pad. The soft, closed-cell foam sheds dirt, rather than retaining it. Dirty water is able to escape from under the mitt thanks to the convoluted wave surface. Since the dirt is not rubbed into the paint, wash-induced swirls are greatly reduced

Okay well I bought a couple of microfiber mitts but haven't used on my paint yet - only on my rims. So what kind of mitt should I get if these are so bad? I figured they must be good because they are so soft... Are the regular cheaper wash mitts better? Or what kind - thanks for the help...

To me, I want something that will allow the dirt and such to become entrained in the mitt to a certain degree. Once it's 'in' the mitt, it's not going to get drug all over the paint while I'm washing. The foam doesn't really allow anything to be entrained and, as such, it seems like it wouldn't allow it to go anywhere but back and forth across the paint.
I mean... what makes this one better than the 75-cent cellulose sponge that you can pick up at Wally-Hell?

I agree... opinions are totally subjective and we'll never know about the mitt until we try it out. Foam just worries the heck out of me from a washing standpoint... there's just no where for any 'grit/grime' to really go like there is with some kind of material that has some 'nap' to it.
I mean, water can 'flow' through sand... that doesn't mean I'm going to wash my vehicle with sand.
I look forward to your report -- and long term opinions.
