you should be getting great results with Whestlys pending you used a wire brush to scrub the lettering. If you didn't you didn't get the full affect of the product.

As for what to use....Simple try different products and see what kind of results you get and what you like. They are similar yet very different.

Don't forget to detail your wheel wells....

I use Westley's Bleach White to clean mine. I spray them down, let it sit as I work my way around the truck and then once I have sprayed all 4 tires scrub them with a brush. I would use one with plastic bristles and not wire. I then wash my wheels and tires like the rest of the truck with some Meguiars car wash.

For the wheels I use some NXT Tech Wax on them. Put on 2-3 coats and you should be good. Any high quality synthetic wax should work pretty well on them.

Good luck.

I use Comet on a stiff nylon bristle brush and scrub the white letters. Comes out nice and white! I put it on the brush first, then scrub the tires.

I don't know if I would use window cleaner to detail wheels....especially polished, etc. A lot of window cleaners have ammonia in it. Might stain polished/aluminum wheels. Good quality wax should work fine.

x2 on the BW and nylon brush. Don't be afraid of multiple applications, if necessary. Just DO NOT LET IT TOUCH RIMS OR PAINT!!! It *will* pit wheels. As was mentioned in another thread, it contains Hydroflouric acid at a .017% concentration. A 1% concentration will burn through your arm (completely). So, aside from paint and whels, protect yourself. I recommend safety goggles and a respirator (or close your eyes and hold your breath). When it gets on your skin, flush with some water. It's a great product, but can be quite dangerous.

hmm...seems like I heard that somewhere.....hahaha.....he's right. I'd find some pics of people with HF burn, but its pretty sick. Anyway, if you are fair skinned or have sensitive skin, then definitely wear protection. I don't but I rinse thoroughly after using it. I have a 3M disposable respirator, type P, that I will use during allergy season and it is certified to filter out the fumes from HF, among many other things.

here is a link or two to its MSDS
http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npg/npgd0334.html - NIOSH Pocket Guide
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrofluoric_acid - wiki MSDS

otherwise I would have to say x3 on the process. Once you get a good "turn" on that stuff on your wheels, you will find yourself using less product but still a great shine.

When I use Westley's I just spray my brush with the product and scrub the tires versus spraying the tire and allowing it to soak in. I have found the same results from both types of application.

You don't have to use Westley's to make those tires super white. As long as you have a good tire brush your good to go. Most of the time I just spray the white lettering with the same Meguiars All Wheel Cleaner I use on my rims then scrub them. I get perfectly white lettering afterwords.

I guess Meguiars is no longer producing their tire brushes? I don't see them on their websites. I have two of them and wouldn't trade them for anything else I've seen on the market.

Once you have those tires nice and clean get yourself either some Meguiars Hot Shine or Meguiars Endurance. I pour some on the Swipes by Eagle One and run them around my tires. Use two applications, allowing about 10 minutes between the first and second. I use a cheap terry towel and go over the white lettering afterwords to make sure that the tire shine did not effect the color of the white letters.
