I asked the same question not to long ago, and I was told peanut butter and the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Tried the magic eraser, and it worked.

Very careful with the MrC ME... ask Dzervit -- at least I think it was him. He ruined all of his door handles with it.

The simple answer is HOT water and a toothbrush. Peanut butter will conceal the wax more so than remove it....

Goo Gone on a soft rag. Don't touch the paint or it will remove the wax from there, too.

RP so what would you recommend? He ruined his handles or the actual door?

My suggestion is quoted...? Water/toothbrush

Damaged his handles -- the black plastic.

I agree fully, even those little black detail brushes everyone sells with black plastic bristles and water. I turn the brush on an angle too, but anyways do it good. It may leave a bit of residue, next time you wash, scrub it a bit and it usually comes right off or mostly.

Big Eraser

I've used a big pencil eraser and followed it up with a protectant. It turned out well for me. Pease note that this is on the grainy black plastic on the steps, side view mirrors and top of the rear bumper.

I use a pencil eraser, works great for me. I still do you use the painters tape, but sometimes I get a little sloppy.

One technique that's been working for me. I treat all the plastics with McGuiers vinyl cleaner protectant before I wax. Seems then if I miss and get a little wax on them it doesn't really adhere or "sink in" and I can just wipe it off and not get that white residue. Also, I've started using Black Magic Wetshine wax. It seems much more forgiving and doesn't leave a bad white residue if it touches the plastics like many other waxes. Excellent shine as well.
