Polisher died after 15 min

Finally got a chance to use the polisher... Masked the areas I didn't want the polish to get, and started testing on a 1' x 1' area. All was going well, and about 15 min into everything the polisher died. Works off and on, but with very little power if any. Something inside is loose and you can smell something burning.

Guess I will test the warranty on it, and see what Rick say's.

Every factory (Porter Cable) will manufac. a dud on occasion... sounds like you got the unfortunate luck of snagging one.

Let us know how the warranty works out for you.

I imagine that as long as you recently purchased it you will have no problems getting a replacement. Porter Cable is a pretty good company by reputation.

While Porter Cable manufactured the polisher, I believe that his is a Meguiar's branded polisher. As such, the G-100 (the Meguiar's P/N) comes with a full lifetime warranty to the original purchaser. The PC 7424 or 7336 is 90 labor w/ 1-year parts.

Any resolution yet, Phillip?
