Did you dress the seats with anything ?
Thanks Gip!

The seats got the 1 - 2 treatment.... Meguiar's Rich Leather Aloe Cleaner and Aloe Conditioner.

It really left behind a nice luster... the black leather is VERY nice...

I'm glad you're happy with it, Shannon. I hope that the guys at your shop appreciate it as well! You'll definitely have the sharpest truck on the in your lot this morning -- heck, and every other morning for that case!

Enjoy it and, again, thanks for your confidence and business!

Now get up here and do my truck... I've gotta get a few pics from my (unplanned) weekend detail. My dad had to drive my truck on Saturday (not by my choice), and I come home, and he's washing it...with his normal dish soap wash Got the wheel wells extra clean just for you RP.

My typical choice would've probably been MPPP in the #21 slot but, I wanted to experiment a tad... it turns out, the #21 and #7 combo on this color with this amount of metallic flake really worked VERY well. Finishing with the #26 was a solid choice... it really put the icing on the cake in my eyes.

After doing this truck, I really started to miss my old truck...
that is music to my ears....I was sold on the #21 the day the sample was given to me. I know have enough of it to do my cars for the next 5 years.

Looks great!

What did you use on the exterior plastic (door handles in particular)?

I am a new poster but I first want to say to RockPick great job as usual.
I have been reading the forum for a bit and your work is awesome.

I have a few questions for you.
I have the same running boards on my truck.
What do you recommend using for polishing the chromish (is that a word) material and also the black on top of the boards.
Also may be the same on the black above but what do you like for the rest of the black plastic trim.

Thank you
TT

You should treat the 'chromish' stuff like paint. It's got a coating on it and, as such, you should treat it as if it were paint. Chrome and/or metal polish isn't an option.

As for the black parts... there really aren't any products out there that won't add the 'slippery' factor. Keep that in mind... that said, I prefer Vinylex on those areas as well.

I'm still not totally sold but, I must admit, my opinion has changed dramatically over the past couple of months. Some will note that I've repeatedly said that #21 wasn't a favorite of mine but, the more I've used and started to understand it, the more I like it.... on certain colors... with other products.

It's a HIGHLY respected product out there in the detailing world but, I couldn't get it to 'act' right during some of my initial attempts with my lab sample. *shrugs*... user error I guess.

I'm enjoying it quite a bit more... now.
