best method for removing FX2 stickers

Can't fathom? How difficult is it to understand that the putty knife gouged the paint -- through the clear -- and into the base?
Boneheaded? Yeah. Probably on her part but,

I have an 01 screw and after reading this the other day today I gave it a try (hot sun and finger nail came right off) and after waxing I can see were the sticker was still ..it looks like the paint is taller were the sticker was ...so I waxed some more with no better results..any thoughts?? thanks

What you've discovered is that it's sometimes not a good idea to do it later down the road.
That said, it sounds like you might be able to bring the rest of the truck back up to the standards of what was behind the sticker but, you may not.
The problem doesn't really lie in the paint behind the sticker but rather in the rest of the paint...
What all have you done with the 'rest' of the paint other than waxing? Can you describe what's different about that paint versus the rest of the truck? I ask that because there's two places that you could have a difference -- 1. The clear. This is where you want the difference to reside or 2. The color coat. You don't want the problem here because you can't deal with it because it's under the clear. The easiet fix on option 2 is to buy more stickers. The hardest fix is a respray.
