New paint, when to wax

Just like it says, how long should I wait before I wax? The temp is around 85-90 deg. here, and it was just painted today.

If it is fresh paint you gotta wait like 90 days to wax or wash, paint's not cured yet

ask the shop that painted it what they recommend you do with it .

more than likely, they will echo what FX41 said..

Like these guys, I've always heard 90 days. At that point you can jump on the ball and do it right from the get-go.

Cool. Guess I'll have to wait it out. Guess it's time to break out the quick detail spray...

What did you have painted? Is this the last ditch effort to mod the truck before 'she' is into the pocketbook and checking account?

I had my doors repainted and was told to wait 2 months to do anything with them...today I went back to have them wetsand a bad spot on the door jam...they told me to wait another 2 months before going at it with clay and full detail. They did say I could wax after about 15 more days...however he said by HAND not using a DA.

If you got a custom paint job, I would like to see some photos of your new giddy up.

I had my bumper replaced due to someone backing in to it (who btw found me and paid for it in full, good guy). While the body guys were at it, I had them paint the valance to match the truck. I must say it came out very nice. I'll take a pic asap. As a mater of fact, this is why I posted this thread. MY truck is dur-ty.

I'm so glad the dealer who painted my truck had an oven!

I wish they used it on mine. The overspray behind the bumper was a little too much for me. But should be a quick fix w/ a rattle can.
