Play with PoorBoys
To take out my frustration of my truck not being ready today from the Body Shop, I decided to do a little experiment.
Using 100% Poorboys.
**note, only the hood was done for this process**
Clayed
PB SSR3, Megs Red cut Pad
PB SSR2.5, Yellow Lake Pad
PB SSR2, White Lake Pad
PB SSR1, Orange Lake Pad
PB Polish with Sealant, Blue Lake Pad
PB EX-P Sealant, waited 60 min, Blue Lake Pad
PB Natty's original White, Foam applicator.
Findings: Still have some micro marting in the places I didn't breakdown the SSR's on. Will have to do it again when i do the whole car.
I am officially a fan of PB. Some people say it dusts too much, but what I found is that the dust is actually old product on the pad.
Does it take that many steps? No, but I was bored so I wanted to see what it would do.
Result.

I became a Poorboys fan after using their spray and wipe on my truck that had been sitting out in the sun all day. No streaking or smearing went on and came off easy and left the finish very smooth. I was even more impressed when I used Natty's Red for the first time very easy product to put on and take off even with the high humidity we have down here, It left the finish very dark and wet looking.

I noticed that you used the Lake County pads, how do you like them. If you have any experience with the Meguiars pads are they better or worse?

As for the lakes, I am sold on those too. They seem to hold up better than the Diamond Megs pads I was using...however, the Red Cut pad from Megs is a must have for sure. That thing is great.
The reason I like the Lakes is for the little rubber lip on the top side of pad. Holds the backing plate better and the fact there are more levels of cut and polish. More pads. I bought 2 full sets of the Lake pads from Top of the Line, they had the best prices on them.
I think its all a personal choice though.
