After checking for any blemishes arond the GooGone test spot I decided to try some other treatments recommended here ie. dawn dish soap (that was a waste of a 1/4 bottle), vinegar (also didn't remove any asphalt) and cooking oil (this worked really well).

I went ahead with the GooGone and sprayed down the sides of the truck front to rear and 60 seconds later followed through with a wash using car soap and soft hand mit. Rinse and BAM! all gone painlessly, well actually these trucks are like washing the Titantic so its not that painless.

Wax coat to follow of course.

I'd recommend a clay bar and possibly some cleaner before rewaxing.

Try piece of an old panty hose and wala. You pick the section to use and keep it wet, bugs disapear.From your truck of course.
