door handles

I just purchased a 2006 FX4. I have never had good luck getting residue off the textured plastic. Any tips or tricks? I have linked the pictures below.

Use an eraser. Start using blue 3M painters tape to tape off your trim..

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser would probably get that out...or just try some plain ole windex and a paper towel...that should take care of it i think

Do not - and I repeat, do not - use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on your door handles. All you will end up doing is adding insult to injury, just as Deservit. (On the bright side, he now has brand new door handles to replace the ones he wiped out.)

X2

Proactive not Reactive

I have a soft detailing brush for if I missed some tape somewhere. Used to get good results with a toothbrush.

A little dab of rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball. Avoid the paint and rewax any areas that you get on the paint.

No kidding, it only takes me about 5 minutes now to tape off my whole truck.

I bought it this way. I did not want the dealer detailing the truck and screwing it up with somebody who does not know how to use a buffer. I will tape up before I prep and wax.

Reactive remedy::: 2" Badger hair paint brush trimmed down till brissles are stiff.
Use Athletic tape around the "shoe" of the brush, the part that is metal and holds the brissles.
TAP with the brush, don't scrub with it.

ProActive= What everone else has been saying, painters tape is your friend especially with the textured trim on our trucks.
