Latest Detailing Craze: The Grout Sponge

The latest gossip on the other forums has been using the basic grout sponge that you can get at Home Depot to wash your vehicle. These sponges are supposedly super soft compared to the conventional car sponge and pick up more dirt as well. This is the alternative to the conventional sheepskin, chenille, MF mits, etc. weve been using.

I will give it a shot after my next visit from the box store.

So.. what do you all think? Care to give it a try?

After reading about it on the other forums I went out and got one. I used it on my work truck but I'm afraid to try it on my personal truck. I use ONR so its probley not a good idea to use it.

There has been talk about these things for several years on various sites.... I've never had the guts to attack a clearcoated surface with one... In my opinion, it's got disaster written all over it. JMO.

Me too, I used to do tile and I would never want to use it for washing anything.
