I like them for removing plastic trim transfer from sideswipes. I get those occasionally on my street, and my neighbors occasionally enlist my help for them...

My least favorite product: Armorall wax it dry gel. Somebody gave me this crap (and he calls himself a detailer) for my birthday last year... I use it exclusively on my Parents' cars or friends' cars who just want to wash their cars (typically female friends... She wears a swimsuit...=fun afternoon... ) So I guess its good for something...

Most over rated product? Hands down, it's Hillary Clinton.
Oh, you meant most over rated DETAILING product. That would have to be any of the various miracle products offered on TV infomercials. You've seen them. The ones that promise to take a junkyard wreck and with one wipe turn it into a show winner.

They're all overrated imo. On the flip side, my most underrated vote goes to Turtle Wax f21 tire foam (makes engine bay detailing look as good as hyperdressing but is readily available in stores and cheap and doesn't attract dust or leave a oily feel. On tires it seems to last forever and blasting the tires with my pressure washer restores the finish like it was just applied)
The comment on Scratch-X above- I guess it depends on the clearcoat (hardness?) because it doesn't do much for my scratches on my vehicle but works great for polishing after wet sanding and removing oxidization/cleaning. But my friend tried my same tube on his Taurus using a old sock and it just got rid of all his scratches with no effort at all! So I really think it depends on either the clear coat, or how deep the scratches are.
Now for the quick interior detailer; I've never heard of people ranting and raving about it and never so much as seen one advertisement for it so I would never call it overrated, but it's the only thing I will use in my interior. It gives the EXACT results I want- brand new looking plastic with no chicken grease oily residue. For me, it's the perfect interior up-keep product for well maintained vehicles.

Overrated from my experience? Mother's Back to Black, Meguir's Deep Crystal step #2 polish, maybe I used them incorrect? Didn't think so either. The polish seemed like a waste of time, buying a better wax after the pre wax cleaner and clay bar did a great job.
Yes, Toyota is overrated buge, but that's a story for a different day.
