Paint Chips

I was washing my truck today with a pressure washer and was spraying the front bumper when a baseball sized portion of paint came off. I went to a local auto body and paint shop and they seem to think it is a warranty issue. They seem to think that at one point in time the front bumper was re-painted and there is an adhesion problem with the paint. Does anyone have any insight or advise?

That's a tough one. The paint is only covered under the 12/12,000 rule. Worth a try, they may split the cost of painting the front.

In the mean time I would not use a pressure washer very close to the paint. How far away is the nozzle when you use this? These can strip the top layer of concrete with no problem at close range.

It was close but it is not a very powerful, electric pressure washer and I have used it numerous times. I am just out of the 12/12,000 period but we will see what they say. I got a quote from a body shop today and they want to charge me $350 to re-paint it. That seems a little rediculous.

$350 is not ridiculous when you figure stripping and prep time and materials. If you dont strip it, it's gonna happen again.
