Paint flaking from ding/dent

Buying a new (used truck) and the only thing concerning me on it is a small paint issue on each side where the bumper meets the front fender just below the headlights. The truck has a RanchHand fron bumper and I think when it was put on someone dinged the fenders right there on each side. There is a small chip of paint missing from each side. I am worried that since it is at a bend in the sheetmetal, will the paint start to flake later down the road? What can I do to prevent this from happening? All I can think of is using some touch-up paint to prevent rust on the bare spot, but will this keep the paint from flaking? I don't want to have paint peeling off in a year from now.. Thanks!
